Traveling Spaceman

Travelling spaceman is our submission for the 2024 Kenney Game Jam. The theme of the jam is "connection". Our game is based on the 'traveling salesman problem' studied extensively in computer science. The goal is simple: given a map of planets and routes between them, what is the shortest possible route that visits each planet exactly once and returns to the spaceman's home planet?
In this game we challenge you to forge connections between the planets and find the shortest path!

Rules of the game:
-Each level has a certain amount of movement points.
-Each time you forge a new connection your movement points go down by 1.
-Forging orange connections detracts 2 movement points.
-You cannot forge a connection with a planet or satellite you've already used.
-You must connect all the planets.
-You must end at your starting planet.

Controls:
-Press 'Left Click' to select a planet or satellite.
-Press 'R' to reset your level if you fail or get stuck.
